Music critics have described Paul Renz as “a remarkable guitarist and composer,” a creator of jazz that “knocks out listeners with subtle firepower hidden in a splendid vocabulary of feints and finesse.” A graduate of Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, himself a student of jazz greats Herb Pomeroy and George Russell, Renz has recorded a half dozen CDs which have received critical acclaim and topped jazz charts. Renz is also a passionate and highly renowned teacher, offering private guitar and bass lessons as well as classes on theory and improvisation. Renz resides in Minneapolis, but offers online guitar lessons to students around the world.
